Famou Machinery By Famou Machinery

A 60 mm feed line and a 102 mm feed line should not be selected by diameter alone. The conveying mechanism, route, material and required delivery rate all affect the choice. Even when two products use similar terminology, their complete configurations may differ.

Start with the delivery duty

Record the feed quantity that must reach each destination and the available operating period. Include the sequence of destinations and whether some may be supplied simultaneously. This gives the supplier a delivery requirement instead of an isolated request for a pipe size.

For example, supplying one nearby receiving point during a long operating window is a different duty from supplying several buildings within a short window. The same daily tonnage can therefore lead to different equipment proposals.

Describe the complete route

Provide distances, height changes, intended direction changes and receiving points. Identify the space available for the drive and support arrangement. Ask the supplier to confirm the proposed route using the exact equipment family and model.

Do not treat the larger nominal diameter as a guarantee of a particular capacity. Request the operating conditions behind the stated rate, including the material and route assumptions. A manufacturing output figure in metres per month is also different from a conveyor's operating throughput and should not be used in the selection calculation.

Compare the component sets

Identify the chain or conveying element, discs where applicable, pipe, drive, outlets and direction-change components. Confirm that the parts are intended to work together. A replacement part with a similar nominal dimension should not be mixed into another system without compatibility confirmation.

Check the control sequence and the response to an abnormal condition. Sensors, supports and installation parts should appear in the scope so that a basic pipe-and-drive price is not compared with a complete installed system.

Make the choice traceable

  • Required delivery rate and operating window.
  • Material description and route drawing.
  • Exact 60 mm or 102 mm configuration proposed.
  • Performance basis supplied for that configuration.
  • Controls, spare parts and installation responsibilities.

The diameter comparison becomes useful only after these inputs are aligned. If both options can meet the requirement, compare their installation constraints and service needs on that shared basis. If one cannot, the reason should be visible in the route or performance confirmation rather than inferred from the size printed on the product name.
