Famou Machinery By Famou Machinery

A livestock water level controller needs to be installed within the water arrangement specified for its model. Mounting position, supply conditions and access to the controlled components all matter. The device should not be treated as a universal replacement for any valve simply because it controls a water level.

Identify the controlled arrangement

Ask the supplier to show the controller, associated valve or connection and the equipment it serves. Record the intended operating conditions and the model reference. Clarify which components are included and which must already exist on site.

For a replacement, photograph the old connections and mounting. Identify any previous modification. Have compatibility confirmed against the actual installation instead of assuming the new device shares the same connection or adjustment method.

Plan access before mounting

The operator should be able to inspect the controller and service the relevant connections using the supplied procedure. Show the installation location in relation to the drinker, pipework and nearby pen equipment. Avoid placing an adjustment or removable component where it becomes inaccessible after assembly.

Record how the relevant water section is isolated for service. The installation and any connected electrical work, where applicable, should follow the product instructions and be completed by competent personnel.

Test the supplied function

Use the manufacturer's commissioning procedure to check that the intended level-control function operates. Record the starting condition, test method and observed result. Do not create a universal adjustment value without knowing the device and the application.

Inspect connections for leakage and confirm the intended response under the test conditions. If the result is inconsistent, investigate the installation and supply information with the supplier before making repeated unrecorded adjustments.

Keep a baseline for troubleshooting

  • Controller and connected-equipment references.
  • Mounting and connection arrangement.
  • Stated supply conditions and initial configuration.
  • Commissioning observations and any authorised adjustment.
  • Service parts and instructions handed to the operator.

If a later problem appears, compare it with this baseline. A changed supply, obstructed component or damaged part may require a different action from a setting adjustment. A clear record helps the farm explain the condition to technical support and prevents the controller from being replaced repeatedly without examining the surrounding water system.
